A CD for promotion #1

Felix Mendelssohn complete works for violin and piano

Description booklet can be found at Naxos website. This disc is not expensive (bargain instead), I bought it at Amazon site. Being a Mendelssohn enthusiast, his compositions are one of the best composed among Romanticians. This cd shows maturing Mendelssohnian talent at his age 11, 14 and 29(most maturing). Sadly, only the 1823 sonata has been published and I don't know the exact reason, I think the 1838's is more tantalizing in tune and structure. To represent Mendelssohn's gradual maturity in composition, I will post the 1st movt. of all sonatas and take that as an example to promote his music. Apart from sonatas, this cd also collected some more individual works (probably from sketches or movts. of planned sonatas) that is not so outstanding but still stands a perfect place in the cd. Any reviews about the cd can be commented.

Violin sonata (1820)

Violin sonata (1823)

Violin sonata (1838)
